I'm working with a client on a re-do for their living room. They currently have a wall-wide, dated brick fireplace. (Original to the house in 1985). I've been doing some research, and here are some lovelies I've found:
My trickiest issue with this one, is that the TV will be mounted above the fireplace. While it adds one focal point (TV) to another (fireplace), it is often unfortunate to take a wonderfully detailed feature, and throw a glossy black square above it. We don't want the TV to feel like an afterthought.
Here are a few fireplace examples that feature a TV, but don't distract from the millwork:
I love this last example! The TV just nestles right into the mix. There are plenty of details on the shelves, so you don't feel heartache about the lack of a painting above the mantle. :)
Have a great afternoon!!
