DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT - ML INTERIOR DESIGN

With the weekend so close you can taste it, I just wanted to share a little design inspiration! Husband and I are going to be remodeling our kitchen this weekend, so we need all the pep we can get!

Please enjoy a few treats from ML INTERIOR DESIGN. Have you heard of Marisa? She does lovely, fresh design work, and we find her very inspiring! Having grown up in the heart of all things glamour, you can tell she has design in her bones. I especially love the soft, but rich colors she implements into her spaces.

I LOVE this rug!!! Isn't it fabulous?!! I also love the clever mixing of chair styles and fabrics. It keeps an element of interest for the dining room.

SCANDINAVIAN LOVE

Good morning, darlings! With Spring in the air, I am dreaming of a stay in the Swedish country side. Forests, lakes and the overall freshness that comes with Spring, are what my body craves. Until I can jump across the pond, drooling over Scandinavian-inspired interiors, will have to do. Bright white walls, mixed with warm woods and natural materials, are the perfect recipe for creating that quintessential space.

LAMP LIGHTING - DESIGNER SECRETS

As functional beings, you'd never think the solution to a successful event is to turn the lights ...OFF!       (Wait, what??)

A little over-head light is fine, but trust us on this one... if you have high-intensity florescent lights beaming down from your ceilings, party time is the perfect time to give them a rest!

(Now for the designer secret) ---->There's nothing more flattering on a guest than lamplight!!

With that said, please enjoy some of my favorite lamps.

You've heard the phrase "three's a crowd."

...And while it might seem like something to avoid in social interactions, it's actually the PERFECT RECIPE when it comes to accessorizing a space. You see, when you have one or two of something, it better be interesting to stand its ground. BUT, when you have THREE or more of something, it automatically qualifies as a COLLECTION! This is one of the places where design magic comes from.

Getting out of bed in the mornings might be that much easier if you were stepping on to the wool, Awakening rug designed by Nasia Burnet, founder of byNasia. The collection is based on "the warm, cosy and contained feeling after a wonderful sleep." Love it!

DESIGN FOR LITTLE ONES

Design for little ones has been fresh on my mind. 

You see, there must be something in the air here... I took a tally of my close friends and family (not even Facebook friends) who are expecting little ones in the near future. Guess how many? 15! 15 Friends with little ones on the way! So while I'm thinking of the perfect baby gift to buy 16 times, (one friend is having twins!) I'll send out a few ideas for their nursery inspiration.

This is more of a room for big brother or sister. I absolutely LOVE the simplicity, AND the chalkboard wall. Hopefully the little lady in this room never finds the need to color her walls with markers. :)

I love this sweet 'mobile.'

How fun is this room?!!! I would have loved to have a tepee like this! ...and aren't those floors lovely?

Just a small reminder that it's important to keep things fun! When we're designing for littles, we like to keep our client in mind. I'm sure this design would be a crowd-pleaser! 

I daresay that the little guy in this room will be all kinds of manly when he grows up. ;) Cowboys! Antlers! Metal! Tools! Navy Blue!

Is this straight out of a fairy tale? What a charming little space!!!

I LOVE how fresh this space feels! It's a blank palette where the little one can grow and develop his or her own ideas! ...I also have to admit that I envy the complete absence of plastic toys! 

Lastly, I love the pops of color and sweet vintage/modern details of this space! I'm dying to have that lamp!!

OFFICES

Good morning friends! 
Let's talk offices today. We are just diving into an office re-do and are excited to get our brains rolling on the subject.

Below are a few finds that really get us excited!

This office is about all you can ask for when it comes to (stunning) quality pieces and a fresh canvas where your brain can work effortlessly.

We love how this office has (nearly) all the information in the world, stored on the wall; yet it doesn't seem overbearing or messy because it's consistent and orderly. This still provides a fairly "clean pallet" to work in; and, I find all that information to be comforting.

This little gem is truly my type of office! Although there is a lot going on in the space, there is a place for everything. It is a real "working space," as you can pull things out and really get into the task at hand.

I love how things are stored right in the open. The tools for this artist are easily accessible. I feel like if I were working with these fabrics, I'd find easy inspiration in their presence in the space.

I can't stand how much I love the idea of this office! I love the accessible task lighting, the warmth of the materials, the natural light, and the fabulous workspace! It could even be tucked into the tiniest corner of your house.

Last, but certainly not least, is this lovely office! It is filled with inspiration, style and ease. A nice, big working space makes it easy to lay out projects; and the extra chairs at the table allow for helpers or clients to participate. The drum pendants make for great task lighting.

I am also in love with the warmth of the wood, combined with the rich grey!
