HAPPY WEEKEND!

Hi Guys! Happy weekend! Any fun plans? The temperature here in our part of the world is supposed to reach 85 degrees Fahrenheit, 30 degrees Celsius. Nice, huh? So being outside, soaking up some sun is definitely on the agenda. On another note, check out this play house by Barcelona architects Anna and Eugeni Bach. It is the epitome of care-free, Summer days. The duo designed and constructed the folly at their parent’s farm in southern Finland, following a request from their children for a house of their own.

CABINS

As summer inches closer to us, I cannot keep myself from thinking of getting out into the outdoors! I believe that if for nothing else, the outdoors are out there to remind us to breathe, take it easy once in a while, and remember 'what it's all about.' As much as I love our design, projects and clients, my brain can go a little haywire if I don't stop and 'sharpen the saw' every once in a while. One day, I hope to own a little niche of land, tucked into a forest near a lake. I'd go there on any free weekend, and cook glorious meals in a dutch oven, while the kiddos catch bugs and collect river rocks!

Here's to an inspiring goal!

Ok, technically, this is not a cabin, but can you believe this space?!!!! Isn't is great?! From the outside, you'd never know what dynamic impact was waiting for you inside. It could be a very cool idea to build your cabin around a tree, instead of clearing the land before you build!

BIRDHOUSE BLISS

Happy Friday, lovelies! I am so looking forward to the weekend. It's hubby's 30th birthday and I have something special planned. Also, the Salt Lake City Marathon will be taking place on Saturday, which means that we are pretty much house-bound for the entirety of the race. The route surrounds our house. Sooo, I am hoping to get outside and continue working in the garden. This year, I am on the hunt for a modern birdhouse. My search has led me to some beauties designed by Jim Schatz. Take a look.

Good morning lovelies! I want to introduce you to mine and husby's newest adventures! 

From left to right: Lu, Betsy & Mrs. Haberdasher. They are about the sweetest ladies ever, and my other half has been begging to bring them home for MONTHS! Despite everyone's reassurance, I was all kinds of nervous. (...Not very sure how to be a good chicken momma!!!) To ensure that husby had thoroughly thought this through, we made a deal that by the time the babies are big enough to go outside, they must have an "architecturally pleasing" home to live in. 

As I've gotten to know the girls, I've been getting more and more excited! I've been gathering ideas; and here are a few favorites...

OUTDOOR LIVING

Hello friends and happy Monday! Did you do anything fun over the weekend? My weekend was relaxed and focused on soaking up as much sunshine as possible. Hubby, Baby P. and I took a long walk around our city center. We spent a lot of time at Temple Square, admiring the newly sprouting flowers. Spring is definitely in the air and I am so excited to start enjoying evenings on the patio, gathered around the table.

We love sharing tips on how to put a space together, and we believe the outside is just as important as the inside.
